Never miss a story!

The Dewey School of Excellence, an Academy of Urban School Leadership (AUSL) network school and CPS partner, located at 5415 S Union in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood was the recipient of a special donation of school uniforms from Kevin and Greta Warren of the Warren Family Foundation. Kevin is the newly appointed Big Ten Conference Commissioner and the first African American Commissioner of a Power Five conference. Before his appointment to the Big Ten, Warren was the Minnesota Vikings’ Chief Operating Officer.

A statement released by the Warren Family Foundation:

The Dewey School of Excellence is a place of learning and encouragement for neighborhood students.  This is the first of many gifts and we are prayerful our gifts will help to encourage the students to drive for greatness while also supporting the mission of the Dewey School of Excellence.

The Dewey School of Excellence strives for excellence through the service of our students and their families. This generous donation reinforces our service and support to families by ensuring that all of our scholars are provided two complete sets of uniforms, shirts and pants, at no cost. We are beyond grateful that our families are now able to allocate those resources in other ways with the relief of knowing that their child(ren) are prepared to return to school.
