Impact through innovation

Pioneering the in-district innovation zone

Since becoming the nation’s first urban teacher residency program in 2001 and the nation’s first in-district innovation zone in 2006, we have worked in partnership with the Chicago Public School System to transform the city’s lowest-performing schools.

AUSL has trained 1,371 high-quality teachers, transformed 31 schools in Chicago, and impacted 50,000 students across 8 cities and 65 schools nationwide.
